Sunnmøre Alps
The Sunnmøre Alps are popular with skiers right up to late spring, and with hikers in the summer. Several companies offer guided tours. The Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT) offers popular guided tours. You’ll need to be a member of the Association and a competent skier.

Jugendstilsenteret
Jugendstilsenteret (Art Nouveau Center) offers a fascinating introduction to Art Nouveau with beautiful illustrations of the movement. The center also hosts temporary exhibitions, such as the current Norwegian Japonism, which examines the influence of Japanese art on Art Nouveau in Norway.

Mount Aksla
Reach the summit of Aksla and you’ll never forget you’ve been in Ålesund. The mountain offers stunning views of the city and surrounding peaks. There’s a stairway – with 418 steps – to the summit. Here you can take a well-earned rest at the mountain lodge, which has a café and restaurant.
