Forbidden Planet

I’m a science fiction nerd, so I love the comics, sci-fi books and movie props at this store. Especially the Star Wars and Star Trek related things.

Strand bookshop

An epic bookshop, selling all kinds of books – old, new, used, rare, even out of print books. With some 29km of books, they have everything covered, from philosophy and cookbooks to easy listening vinyl records.

Fish

This is the place to go for delicious Long Island oysters and Chardonnay. During happy hour, you get a glass of wine and six oysters for $10. A great place to start the evening before continuing with dinner at Trattoria Pesce Pasta, just down the street.

Bryant Park

A bohemian picnic in this park is great on a sunny day. While here, don’t miss the magical New York public library. With the atmosphere and smell of old books, and all the bohemians, hipsters, and, of course, ghostbusters, it’s a must.

Trattoria Pesce Pasta

I always eat here when I’m in NY. A real New York Italian restaurant. I recommend the fantastic Linguine Arrabbiata with half a lobster, and to finish, a great tiramisu.

Murray’s Cheese

The perfect New York deli to pick up delicacies for a picnic in one of the parks. Cheeses, olives, sardines and good sourdough breads. Total foodie happiness.
